Google Adsense is perhaps the easiest way to attract advertisers from across the globe to your website. Just submit your website to Google for approval. If Google likes what it sees, it will place contextual ads linking to products likely to appeal to the readers. Each time a reader clicks a link, the advertiser pays Google a small fee, and Google splits that with you.

20 ways to add free content to your site
Filed Under Marketing | Leave a Comment
The best way to attract visitors to your site is through content. If your content is not interesting and useful, it will be more difficult to attract visits, and, if you have ads on your site, even more difficult to get clicks on them.
Good content is a sure way of getting better revenue and through the years it has become much easier to provide quality content.
The traditional way to create content is writing it yourself. If there is a subject that you know a lot about, you will surely be able to write content about it for your site.
However, there are many other ways of providing content for free
1. Blogs - Writing a blog is fairly easy, and they are regularly updated. You can create a blog at http://www.blogger.com or have a blog on your site to write about news and updates.
2. Volunteer writers - Another option for content is to have people write articles for free. Many people like to write, you can see this on any site that has comments that may be added. These don’t receive any payment for what they write, they just do it for the fun of it, or to express themselves.
3. RSS feeds - There is a way of getting lots of content for your site for free: with Syndicated articles, also known as RSS feeds. There are many writers that want to see their work published so that they can start getting recognition. This creates a writer-publisher relationship through which both can benefit. The writer gets exposed to lager audiences, and the publisher, that is you, gets quality content for the site.
Note that the down side of adding RSS feeds to your site is that when a visitor clicks on a feed on your site, he leaves your site and is sent to the site that generates the feed.
4. Articles in your site – Articler.com has released a script that allows you to receive articles daily on your site for free, with the advantage that when a visitor clicks on an article to read it, he doesn’t leave your site. The articles of the topic of your choice are retrieved from Articler.com’s site and posted on your site for visitors to read. To obtain the script, visit http://www.articler.com/faq.php?faq=articles-in-your-site
5. Non-Copyrighted content – Many books and articles no longer have copyrights, due to the fact that no one has renewed these rights. Thus, they are available and may be used freely on any site. For an extensive list of non-copyrighted material, visit the Gutenberg Project.
6. Forums – By adding a forum on your site, visitors will write about the discussion topics that you can set up. This will provide fresh new content for free and create additional links to your site from search engines on a regular basis.
7. Reviews – You can create a review section on your site where visitors can write about products or services of their knowledge. By doing so, each time you add a new product or service to be reviewed, fresh content will be added by the site’s users.
8. Press Releases – A press release is an effective way to promote your site. You can also post your press releases on your site together with other press releases that are related to your site’s content. However, you must first visit the site that created the press release in order to learn if you can post their release on your site.
9. Games – Games are very popular, and many web surfers like to play frequently. You can find many online games that are free and available for your site. You may choose games that are related to your site, or just add an entertainment section for fun.
10. Guides & Directories – Guides and directories are a way of helping surfers to find what they are looking for. You can add a general web directory to your site, or a specific directory about a subject that is related to your site’s content.
11. News Headlines – Instead of adding full articles and feeds to your site, you can embed news headlines that will constantly show the latest news. These services update automatically, so you don’t have to change it manually in order to keep it updated.
12. Photographs & Video – As broadband connections become more common, different media types are becoming increasingly popular over the internet. Your site doesn’t have to include only text information. You can add photographs that are related to your site through sites that offer free stock photography, also you can include videos from youtube.
13. Tickers – Through tickers, you can show updates and information in a more dynamic way. There are many different topics that you can choose from to add tickers: news, stock, sports, weather etc. They occupy very little screen space and constantly change your site’s content dynamically.
14. Cartoons & Jokes – There are many free cartoons and jokes available that you can add to your site on a daily basis. By searching carefully, you can find jokes that are related to your site and add them to provide a fresh look at different topics.
15. Financial / Stock quotes – Financial and stock quotes are a necessary addition to any financial or news site. You can obtain these quotes for free from any major stock site.
16. Webmaster tools – If your site is intended for webmasters or site owners, you can add free tools that will be very useful to them. One fo the most important free webmaster tools is Page Rank Checker
17. Maps – You can use online maps in many different ways. By adding maps to your site, you can provide visitors with maps about their location, country maps, world maps, or a map that indicates driving directions to reach your business.
18. Weather - Weather forecasts and live weather feeds are available to be added for free to any site. Most of them can be embedded to your site and will be automatically updated. This will add informational content for visitors and provide new content daily.
19. Tips and Advice – There are many free java or html box scripts that will add daily tips and advice to your site and will surely keep your visitors returning to see the latest tips available.
20. Sports results – If your site is about sports, you can add the latest sports results to your site and keep visitors constantly updated about what is happening in different sports events.
