My Experience With A Career Coach New York

Everyone gets flat tires on the treacherous road of life. It just so happened that, despite my position as a wealthy Wall Street investment banker, I once got a flat tire that I couldn't fill back up on my own. I knew of several executives who had employed the services of a career coach. New York is full of people that offer these types of services, but I wanted the best I could get. After seeking recommendations from colleagues, I decided on an executive coach (New York -based) that had years of experience helping people in my position, from companies and organizations like like Morgan Stanley Dean Witter, JP Morgan Chase, Johns Hopkins University and the World Health Organization. I was very impressed with her credentials, and when I met her, I noticed that she possessed many of the qualities that I was looking to adopt. Though my wife referred to her as my "life coach," I wasn't too comfortable with that term. She worked with me entirely in business coaching, at a time when I felt like the wind had truly left my sails. I've always sort of had the ability to leave my work at the office, and keep that life separate from my home life. I consider my home life to be healthy, and not in need of coaching. When it comes to a life coach, New York City is full of self-defined "life coaches," so there is really no end to the things that term could mean. I felt like the professional I had hired was more of an executive coach. New York has lots of those two, but their role is a bit more clearly defined. Though I can't go into complete detail, my executive coach helped me with a number of things, some of which include: developing my leadership skills, "crystallizing" my goals, working on focusing my energy on the next level, and a number of others. Overall, I'm thrilled with the results of my sessions with her. I've made a lot of improvements, and have seen other good things happen as a result of those changes. For example, I've sharpened my creativity pencil, I've been making better business plans, I've engaged my staff, and I've witnessed an increase in performance and productivity...the results have been remarkable. I would recommend seeing a career coach or a "life coach" to just about anyone, whether they've got deflated tires or they're riding on a spare. My experience may have been one of a kind, but sometimes all it takes is for someone else to point out things that you just didn't recognize in yourself. Once you recognize those things, you realize you have everything you need within to make anything possible. I know it sounds kind of hokey, but you can blame that on the life coach. New York City is full of great coaches and trainers, but shop around, get recommendations from colleagues and find one that works for you. Maybe you'll experience the same success I did.
